Screenupdating false not working
Screenupdating = TRUE End Sub "VBAActuary" Thank you for the response."VBAActuary" Check Radio Button Over the years, I've never got this function to work - not that I need it very often (there are usually better ways). I've done this before but I'm missing something about how "Me" works. Range("Range 2").clearcontents ' Up to this point, Screenupdating=FALSE on ALL machines Sheets("Sheet 3"). The model contains thousands of lines of code over several modules and userforms, and requires the opening and closing of other Excel workbooks. Unfortunately, the code I provided as an example is an extremely simplified excerpt from the larger model (I should have clarified).
I have an Excel model with several VBA macros that I have been maintaining in Excel 2003 for years with no issues. Range("Range 2").clearcontents ' Up to this point, Screenupdating=FALSE on ALL machines Sheets("Sheet 3"). When I do the following in this order in the code: 1) set Screen Updating set to false 2) I add a new workbook, activate a ribbon tab 3) I do a bunch of operations to that workbook that may take 10-20 seconds 4) set Screen Updating back to true.
What I observe is: 1) some operations are occurring while the new Workbook's window is hidden 2) the new workbook's window displays (but does not activate the ribbon tab).

I am trying to see how I can force a newly created workbook/window in Excel 2013 to display before changes are made to it.
The active worksheet is shown as empty since Screen Updating is off 3) more operations on the workbook are done (but you can't see them being done as Screen Updating is off, you still just see an empty worksheet) 4) after the operations are completed.
